9 months and FULL of energy

Roman is now 9 months old, 6 teeth and so much energy that it will wear you out by 9am! He is becoming so responsive to the world and his belongings. He makes the craziest, funniest, sweetest faces but also has his "through down on the floor" temper tantrums. I can only imagine what the terrible two's will bring. He still has been sleeping through the night but waking up at 630a (I think because we are up for work!) The next 3 mos will seem to go by so fast and here comes 1ST BIRTHDAY and his baptism. I never thought parenting would be so difficult at times. It really tests your patience and your marriage and everyone around you. People say it will get better with age and hopefully it does!

Where did time go?!

I read my last post and Roman was only 5 months old and my oh my how time has changed in those 2 months. He now has 4 teeth and 2 more peaking through. He eats 3 meals a day consisting of oatmeal, fruit, veggies and meats. He is now 7 1/2 mos old and weighed 18 lbs and 27".

He is still my fussy pants, with 2 more top teeth coming through everything still goes into his mouth! He started crawling around 5-6 mos and at 7 mos he is scooting along! LOVES LOVES LOVES to be standing and trying to walk, pulling himself up to stand. He flipped over into his toy box being the curious boy he is, trying to get the very last toy, he had his feet off the ground and over he went :) You can't leave him unattended for too long. It's the cords, vents, outlets and dog toys that he is on a misson for. The crib mattress has been moved all the way down, I found him standing up in his crib Easter morning (the picture above was taken that day). No more swing or bassinett for him, rolls right out of it!

I'm in the process of thinking about his 1st birthday party and his baptism this September. It's hard to pick a "theme" because he isn't a huge fan of any particular character and the moment! Roman keeps our lives very busy and not sure what I did before he arrived....oh yea....SLEEP and whatever I WANTED too! He has been sleeping through the night for the most part being 8pm to 630a, he knows we leave for work soon so he tends to get up to tell us "bye!"

Hopefully I can keep this blog more up to date but I'm also working 5 days a week now and barely enough hours in the day anymore!

5 mos-16lbs-1 tooth!

Roman will be 5 months old tomorrow (2-10-12). He is 16 lbs, 26 1/4 inches. He is so funny at times, but still has his crying spurts. He can be laughing and laughing & you take something away from his like the controller, computer or phone & goes straight into a hissy fit!! Who does that sound like.....Todd, yup that's what I said :)

He still wakes at least 1-2 times at night which I don't mind. He is in bed by 8pm and good nights he gets up at 4-5a, other nights it's 130ish. He is eating cereal twice a day and will be starting solids maybe this weekend, I have all my veggies ready for him! Also, one little bitty tooth on the bottom is coming out. Everything is going into his mouth!

I'm a BIG BOY now!

We started Roman on cereal this past weekend, he only gets 1 tablespoon at dinner when we are eating so he will get to know this routine as well. He looks so grown up and such a big boy sitting in his own little high chair!

Love this little boy!

4 months old

These days and months just keep going by so fast! It's already 2012 and hopefully almost done with the winter season and onto spring.

We thought Roman was in the teething stages but maybe just an obsession with his fingers. He does drool a lot still, red cheeks and gnawing at his fingers. His next dr's appointment is not until 2-3-12 which will be 1 week shy of 5 months old and another round of vaccines will be needed. His weight is close to 15 lbs give or take but will know more at his appointment.

Now is the time to start cereal. I'm not in a rush to start but maybe this weekend, I'm more afraid of an allergy he will have. He is sleeping routinely 6-8 hours a night, eating and then back to sleep for a short cat nap. He is just a busy body who loves to visit with his grandma's during the week while we are working. He will take short "cat" naps and loves "telling secrets" to grandma. Holding his head up really well and rolling constantly on the floor and especially in his crib, sleeping on his belly a lot!

Master Roman has our heart for sure, our days and nights are revolved around him!

3 months old

I am not able to post a new picture yet, I'm blogging from work but the handsome Master Roman is now 3 months old. It's been awhile since I blogged, I thought I would have free time but that seems to be only at work now.

He has his night sleeping routine of either 8pm to 2 am or 9pm to 3 am, but usually a 6 hr stretch for the next feeding and then another 3.5-4 hrs after that. I am working monday through thursday and luckily having our mothers at the house watching him. He LOVES bath time, anything to do with water! The noise of the faucet or a beach noise on our phones will hopefully calm him down and into a nap he goes.

We think he is starting the teething phase. He is drooling a lot and gnawing at his fingers, basically putting them all in his mouth and little red cheeks. I started some teething tablets that are all natural and I guess that helps for a short period of time but the mothers say "he is quite fussy lately"! I guess their christmas, birthday and any holiday in between will consist of expensive presents!!

I love the smiles that he gives us, the "talking" he does and just the look on his face that he is learning of his surroundings amazes us. It makes all the bad days disappear when he looks at you & smiles.

Love our Master Roman Allen!

8 weeks old

This picture was taken on Saturday when Roman just turned 8 weeks old. He looks like a little man, he really has so much character about him. He is smiling and giggling more and more each day (when we have good days) and seems to really get louder when he cries (on his bad days!). He is scheduled to start his vaccinations next week but I tried weighing him on Saturday and he is close to 12 LBS according to a home scale with clothes on.

This past month has been better and seems to be getting better day by day but sometimes those days are really really hard. He has his night time schedule routine of bath by 730p, eat & bed hopefully close to 9p. I have been getting better sleep during the night. I had 1 night of a 6 hr sleep but it's usually around 4 hrs right now. I will be going back to work on Nov. 29th, 3 weeks away :( and it will be really hard at first with not sleeping well and working in Toledo from 730a to 4p with 30 min drive each way. I'm going to only do Tuesday thru Thursday for right now until I can sleep better. I hope the sitters can hang in all day & won't leave me after watching him :)

There are plenty of days that Roman likes to test my patience and it's not either mine or his fault, it's really just trying to figure out what he wants and needs at a young age. I'm trying to figure out if nursing him is causing his fussiness and maybe switching to a formula that would work better for him. I look forward to the holidays and he will be close to the age of starting cereals and then baby food!! When he smiles and laughs, he makes those bad days go away but I wouldn't ask for anything more.
