Residents in the room

Love when Dr. K comes in with a resident/intern. This could be good or bad. This resident/intern was good. Though I don't mind the whole learning process & everyone needs experience but you should become familiar with the "wand", gloves & gels before entering MY room. This resident was off on the sidelines observing, this was good! Some are bad where they are dropping things & making the whole situation that much worse than what it is.

Dr. K is a very positive person & I appreciate the great bedside manner but sometimes you just need to tell me how it is. So I did I new medication this month called Lupron. This medication stops the pituitary glands from creating hormones so he has more control on how the follicles are growing. Today's ultrasound after 5 days of Bravelle (2 vials a day) & 10 units of Lupron showed right side at 12.5 12 11 7.5 7 & 6.5 Left was slower at 12.5 7 & 7. Lining was 8.5. Ran blood work to show the estrogen & progesterone levels along with repeating my thyroid levels & CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Profile) which is a complete workup of the kidney & liver functions & others due to taking metformin. My thyroid last year was close to being diagnosed borderline hypothyroidism, hoping that is better this year. Thanks to metformin & soft toliet paper, I have lost close to 15lbs in 1 year =) . It's watching those "bad" but oh so good tasting foods!

So all in all, Dr K is happy with where I'm at today. Last month's response was good & just said since my cycle arrived earlier than expected the eggs were not good eggs & maybe he released them too early. This way with taking the lupron, he can grow my eggs more & release when he wants & is ready too. I'm sure by friday or saturday they will be ready. Will update later this week!

Dosing & next appt will be determined after blood work results are in later this afternoon.

EDIT: TSH (thyroid) was 3.66 which is normal but on the high normal. Anything over 5 is considered hypothyroidism. Sugars were 88, estrogen was 235 (not that many mature follicles yet) & progesterone was 1.1. All tests are "normal" per the nurse. Doing 2.5 vials until next appt on friday.
